طی روزهای آینده قراراست سناتور حزب محافظه کار (دیوید کَچوک) لایحهء تمدید تحریمهای ایران را در سنا قرائت کند. کنگرهء ایرانیان کانادا دعوت کرده که از طریق لینک پایین سناتورهای استانی که در آن زندگی میکنید را پیدا کنید و با شماره تلفنهای دفاترشون تماس بگیرید (معمولا روی پیغام گیر باید صحبت کنید) و یا اگر واقعا تماس تلفنی مقدور نیست به آنها ایمیل بزنید.

My name is (YOUR OWN NAME) and I live in (YOUR CITY AND PROVINCE). I am contacting Senator (NAME OF THE SENATOR) as a constituent to request voting against Bill-S-219.

Since Bill S-219 (non-nuclear Sanctions Against Iran Act) is going to be voted on at the Senate soon, I am asking you to vote against this bill.  My reasons for this request are as follows:

1- Canadian Government has promised to re-engage with Iran and re-establish diplomatic relations. This bill will limit or possibly block the re-arrangement with Iran.

2- As an Iranian-Canadian, like many others in this community, I have been harmed by the previous government’s policy of disengagement from Iran, especially by depriving us from accessing consular services from embassies in both countries. Bill S-219 continues this harmful policy and causes problems to thousands of us and our families.

3- As we know that the new government in Iran is willing to open new doors to the international community, and many European countries have already established several business and political agreement with Iran, this bill prevents Canadian businesses from entering into this potentially huge and new market. This policy is not even helpful to our economy.

4- Bill S-219 also harms our international standing by preventing our country from having any influence with Iran, one of the principle players in the Middle East.

5- In this era that politicians like Trump try to build walls and separate nations, this is our responsibility to be committed to our Canadian principles by opening new doors instead of closing them.

For these reasons, I would like to ask you to vote against this bill and allow the government to fulfill its promise of re-engaging with Iran.
